THE CRUCIBLE by Arthur Miller

If any high school books screams classic it would be this criptic tale of the witch trials in Salem Massachusetts.  For many decades this has been a staple in the high schools curriculum.  In my opinion it is one of Miller's best works and will for a long time live on the shelf of high schools around the country.

KAFFIR BOY

I am starting the book Kaffir Boy by Mark Mathabane.  It is an autobiographical book about growing up in South Africa's apartheid.  It is recommended for grades 9-12.  If you have read it, please let me know what you thought.

THE WALKING DEAD

So I hear that this series of graphic novels is quite the hit among the teenage boy crowd.  I personally have not read them but I can tell you that my son, who hates to read, is reading them.  Let me know if you have read them and what do you think.

THE CANDYMAKERS
by Wendy Mass

So I am about half way through this book, and I am really loving it.  Wendy Mass has become a well-known author in-and-around Middle Schools and High Schools.  What books of hers have you read and what do you think?  I am looking forward to hearing your opinions.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Give me the name and author of a good book so that I can read and share with everyone.

I am always interested in what other people are reading...no matter what age.

Thanks

WONDER

By R. J. Palacio

If you are in Middle School (or anyone) and looking for a great book to read...this is the one.  I laughed and cried and fell terribly in love with this awesome story about a boy with major facial deformities.  It blew me away.

Read the book and let me know what you think.
